Thankyou CM for your continued response. I agree that there is a salary difference (we are working on it)however, I am curious what differences you see in patient contact? The differences in training I have equated to the 4 years of schooling required for a Degree in Respiratory Therapy (the equivalent of what I think you call Respiratory Care). In which basic anesthesia is taught. The shorter AA program (I am not actually aware of a 5 month program-since many of the programs have at least 8 diadactic courses followed by a 2 month practicum) builds on that foundation. For this reason I am assuming that AA's in the U.S receive very intense both diadactic and practical training.
