Look at it this way. ANY shift in the job market that favors the employer does no favors for the employee. Lower starting salaries, lower rate of raises for existing employees, declining quality of benefit packages, etc... are what comes with this territory. Not to mention the existing problem of decreased reimbursement for services rendered (happening right now!) which Dave discusses in his post.
