Stanley. CRNAS lose their licenses as CRNAs so they go become ICU nurses? Do you find that acceptable? It would be pretty easy as that is where many were before they got into anesthesia school. (Such as yourself Stanley.). I do not thing that would be right. If they lose their CRNA due to gross malpractice, they should not be able to become ICU nurses. And I do not thing they should be able to become AAs either. Right now there is NO communication between the AANA with AAs. And that was my point of my original post. We need to realize AAs are not going to go away and probably will expand. We need to ensure the quality of anesthesia care, regardless of who gives it. I also suggest an easy way to do it, put in the AA practice laws if a person was a CRNA and lost their license, they could not become AAs. And I think the reverse should also be true. If a person is an AA and loses their license, they can not then go to nursing school and eventually become a CRNA..... And Stanley, give me one example of the ASA trying to limit YOUR practice. You are so new out of school most of the battles were fought before you even got INTO school. You are sledding down a hill that was cleared of trees by us OLD FARTS! Enjoy the ride but do not act as if you are doing anything special.
