Not hating just stating, the origional point was CRNA's sneaking thier way back into practice via the AA rout. I do not think that is a crediable concern as I am quite sure that AA's are vetted by the medical boards just as CRNA's are vetted by the nursing boards. So this concern is just unwarrented, hell might as well worry about anesthesiologists hitting nursing school and becoming CRNA's or applying for an AA program. The second point is in my eyes if you are going to pursue anesthesia as a profession then a move is not a major sacrifice. Many CRNA's work in an ACT practice but they are not "technicians" who turn knobs abd have no clue why they do what they do any more then (I hope) AA's do. It just makes no sense to me to spend so much time and energy to achieve a goal and then be managed. As for my "distastful comments I would advise you look at your mentors on the SDN or the ASA for distasteful or rude comments. I have nothing against AA's generally just in the way they are used and abused by the medical establishment. For the record I have nothing against anesthesiologists either, I will not dictate their practice and they should not attempt to dictate mine. So please by all means keep your joy do not let my opinion change your view. Have a good day and good luck as an AA. For the record the ones most guilty of using politics are the ASA they are the ones attempting to pass laws mandating supervision of CRNA's by anesthesiologists and they are the one s attempting to change my practice. Not the other way around. What was the last legislation that you are aware of in which anesthesiologist practice is changed or curtailed by CRNA's? Cannot find one can you? So I think that the only ones attempting to use "politics" or the "law" to chang practice would be the ASA. Good luck and do not sound so defensive after all if you love what you do my opinion certainly should not matter to you.
