I stand by the comment "potentially dangerous" because we are just starting to see the spike in CRNA "solo" practices. In years past, only a handful of CRNA's ventured out on their own or formed Groups. Now, this is becoming fairly common so the real impact is yet to be seen on patient care.
AA's have been existtence for decades and deserve the right to practice in all 50 states regardless of how you feel about the politics of your AANA. They are qualified and deserve the right to work in every state in the union. AS every AA knows they are waging a battle with the AANA to practice in many states. For example, in North Carolina the AANA waged a brutal campaign of lies and propoganda to discredit the AA's and their training/qualifications.
By the way, many of our legislators really are "idiots" when it comes to health care matters and public policy as well as social welfare programs (like Medicare). Nurses like CRNA's are just that; Advanced Mid-Level Providers that should not be practicing "solo" without Physician Supervision. Unless you go to medical school one should not be able to practice 'Medicine" without a medical degree.
By having a Board call something "Nursing" does not make it true. For example, a Nursing Board called the practice of Chronic Pain management in the scope of a CRNA's training and declared it "Nursing." The Medical Board and courts did not agree and delegated Chronic Pain management to the Board of Medicine.
This example shows how the AANA and Boards of Nursing are over-stepping their boundaries. Meanwhile, CRNA's like yourself fight to deny the right of AA's to practice in any manner in some states. Typical of CRNA arrogance and hypocrisy you deny the most basic rights to others while seeking more than what is reasonable for yourself.
So, the real "kicker" is that the AA's know why you are on this site and why you are making AANA propoganda claims: to doscourage competition from entering the field.
Many MDA's are tired of the false AANA propoganda and want an alternative provider in the operating room. Someone who does not pretend to be an "independent practitoner" of Anesthesia without a medical degree. Please take you lies, propoganda and false statements to another site.
