FACT - There are CRNA's I wouldn't let touch my dog, or even your dog. Before you get too pissed off, I would also say the same about a few MD's and CRNA's as well. The point is that there are good and bad providers in all three professions.
FACT - AA's are perfectly competent to do EVERYTHING that a CRNA does. The only difference is that we practice at part of the anesthesia care TEAM, the safest method for patients.
FACT - A study at the Cleveland Clinic showed no difference in complication rates or bad outcomes with AA's compared to CRNA's.
FACT - Malpractice insurance rates are identical for AA's and CRNA's working in the same practice.
For every lie / mis-statement / half-truth offered by pain in the ass CRNA's such as yourself, I'll have the truth for you.
So, for those not in the know, if you had the choice of having an anesthetic done in Bumfu-k Idaho with a CRNA with NO degree working solo and nobody else in the hospital to help out if they get in trouble, or an AA with a master's degree working together with an MD as a team, which would be safer for the patient? Gee, that's a toughie.
