have looked for a part-time healthcare job and all the lower level/technician jobs at the local hospitals require people to have some sort of education or certification. i'm looking into the shortest/cheapest programs i could do at my local community college because i won't be able to get a job without some sort of certification. i'm open to any suggestions. the local schools offer programs such as phlebotomy, LPN, CNA, etc. i would prefer to do something that doesn't involve ass wiping. blood and gore during surgery doesn't bother me but excrement and vomit does (might sound silly but that's how i am). maybe phlebotomy would be the best choice.
i have done a fairly high amount of shadowing (approx. 50 hours) and i completed a research project. but i don't think the AA programs even know about the research project because there wasn't a space on most schools' applications (or at least, not Emory's) to list this sort of thing.
i guess at this point i will either get an interview offer or i won't. if i don't, then it's time to assess whether or not i'm capable of doing this regardless of how much effort i put in. like people have said, you either have it or you don't, and if i don't, i'm willing to accept it if that's the honest to God truth.
