AA's and math skills

The posts by the other person about not having good enough math skills to be an AA has me kind of worried, b/c my math skills aren't that great either. I have never been all that good at math and I usually am not that good at doing it in my head. I can do unit conversions just fine but I am used to using scratch paper. Are AA's expected to be able to do multiple step conversions in their heads in just a few seconds? If we aren't that good at doing it in our heads, is it possible to develop the skill for it or are you pretty much born with that kind of ability? I was really excited about becoming an AA but I'm worried that this might be what keeps me from achieving my goal.
