There Is NO Real SAFETY On Any L C Smith SXS Archived Message

Our L C Smith SXS shotguns do not have any real SAFETY. Our SAFETIES are just trigger blocks. Nothing is blocking the hammer from the firing pin on our hammerless L C Smiths. The old K-98 Mausers had a real safety that locked the firing pin from moving if I recall correctly. The old Winchester Model 70 from before 1964 had a real safety that was very similar to the old Mauser safety if I recall correctly. That safety also locked the firing pin. Maybe it was in fact the same SAFETY as the old K-98 Mauser. Our L C Smith external hammerguns sort of have a real safety. Just do not cock the hammers until you are ready to shoot......Good Shooting To You....Jent
