At risk of promoting my new book, "Parker Guns: Shooting Flying and the American Experience" (Collector Books of Paducah KY, for release summer 2008), in "Side Locks versus Box Locks" (Chapter 32), I call the spade a spade: "The Parker, A. H. Fox, Ithaca, Lefever, Winchester 21, and L. C. Smith, stand as glowing examples of American ingenuity and industrial prowess, be they pre-World War II originals or latter-day reincarnations. In the final analysis, any ongoing debate should revolve around Quality, not where the hammers are hung."
