I went back and checked out the gun to try to figure out some more about the history of it. It has Hunter Arms co fulton NY stamped on the rib of the gun. The serial number and 2E are are stamped on the underside of the barrel flats. On the barrels it also is stamped crown steel H.A. CO. I measured out the barrels and they are 28" long. I Also kind of estimated the chamber by the cone and figure it must be 2 3/4in Did these guns ever come in a shorter chamber? For you guys that have a similar model are the guns clean on the underside of the barrels? To me it looks like some kind of screws/rivet to retain the rib in place and almost like some solder between the rib and the barrels on the bottom? I belive the straight english stock is factory but the recoil pad aftermarket. I also asked the dealer about the barrels and he noted that you could still see the round machine marks when the barrels were cut. apparently when barrels are reblued they are polished and that removes the machineing marks on the barrel? Can anyone send me a close up picture of a 2E on the underside of the barrels so I can tell if it has been altered? Can anyone else tell me some common problem with this gun that may have occured?
