It wont be too much of a problem compression is hard to make on a stock stroke engine. Flat top 0.040 over pistons with 0.005 deck clearance a 0.038 head gasket and a 37cc heads (roughly 0.050"-0.075" off of a '80 head with some bowl work will net you 10.45 to 1 compression. A stroker engine with a 0.125 bigger stroke (shorter piston is needed of course)or 3.12 total stroke with all things the same makes 11.0 to 1. With a 0.200 stroke increase or 3.22 total stroke (even shorter piston is needed) the compression ratio with all other things the same is 11.32 to 1. So unless you have $1200 for custom pistons and crank offset grinding don't sweat it. The most you will get on a budget is 10.2 to 1. If you don't pay close attention to machine tolerances including balance, accurate compression ratio and static over dynamic compression ratio it won't run good at all. Then all the carb tuning and timing curves won't mean squat.
