I'll show the rounds when I picked them and their stats today:
2nd round A. J. Green 6 catches, 131 yds, TD
I saw the scoring play as part of the NFL Sunday Ticket preview. He juggled the ball, but kept moving, then needed to stutter step before running the last several yards. I believe that accounted for most of the fantasy points, since it was a 77 yard play (7 points for the yards, 6 points for a TD).
5th round Antonio Brown 5 catches, 116 yards, TD
That was just in the first half, so I'm not sure what he did for the rest of the game. The Browns were getting smashed, 27-3 or something like that. They had barely 100 TOTAL YARDS in the first half. Next thing I know, the final score was 30-27 Steelers, and they didn't kick that field goal until the last minutes of the game.
6th round Matt Ryan 31/43 448 yards 3 TD 0 turnovers
I HAD HIM ON THE BENCH! ESPN keeps projecting him as a "QB2" if you assume a 10 team league and standard scoring rules. Last year, I remember him being in the top 10 (as my backup to Drew Brees) until his two best WRs got hurt and the O-line was giving up sacks. He still finished #4 in passing yards.
Benching him came down to what looked like TWO bad matchups "on paper." You have the Saints, with Rob Ryan as the defensive coordinator. They were amazing (#2?) against the pass last year, and [Matt] Ryan struggled to get TDs in the 2013 divisional games.
So now, I have to count on Phillip Rivers to do something special in a road game against the Cardinals. That defense was amazing (#1?) against the run in 2013, which probably forced teams to pass, and then they were still good, but beatable. Rivers had multiple 400 yard games last season, even on the road.
13th round Martellus Bennett 8 catches, 70 yards, TD
Based on the completed games, he and Zach Ertz have the highest point total (non-PPR [points per reception]) for a tight end this week. He was on the bench, too! It looks like he started out last season scoring TDs, and then finished not scoring them. I'd have to see who was the QB during those non-TD weeks (McCown or Cutler?).
15th round Steve Smith, Sr. 7 catches, 118 yards, TD
It's like I couldn't do much wrong at the WR spot! He's on my bench, since they were playing a top 8 defense (Bengals), at least based on 2013 stats. I really wouldn't mind if this guy has a career year at whatever age he is now (35?).
Of course, I haven't seen much at the RB slot yet. That's strange, because I picked three of them in the first four rounds. See below:
1st round Jamaal Charles 11 touches, 34 total yards
Again, "on paper," the Titans were AWFUL against any kind of RB in 2013. They had something like two games not allowing a TD, and five or more games allowing 2 TDs against that position.
I really hope Charles isn't a "bust" this season. The problem is that the whole Chiefs offense STINKS. They should be running him 20 times per game. In today's contest, I think the score prevented them from trying to establish the run.
3rd round Eddie Lacy 15 touches, 45 total yards
I think this was also a case of the score during the game. Plus, he got knocked out with a concussion. Have I ever mentioned how passionately I dislike the Shehawks? They give these interviews that almost sound fake, since Pete Carroll's philosophy is to keep smiling and only talk about what went "right." On the field, they look like a bunch of scumbags who are trying to run up the score.
I saw a "game break" where Greg Olsen (starting TE) scored, so that's pretty good news. I'm not sure about Doug Martin, who's active in that game.
There were even guys who I wanted to draft that played amazing today. Knowshon Moreno: 134 rushing yards, TD. He's not in Denver anymore, but I thought he was a good player.
It's still way too early to know much about this season. I mean, are the Jets and Bills going to stay undefeated? I picked the Jets as a possible playoff team.
