Nobody is being laid off because local unions are actually working with the board in GC. Hiring freeze. Pay freeze. Helping to find areas to save money that are unnecessary until we get through the hard times. We do have a workable school board...but to all who bash unions...we also do our part to help with saving money. We are a good working team in Granite between Administration and Unions. Something the other communities might not be so lucky to have! We always sit down together and work it out before we strike a deal. Give and take. We are closer in this community than people give us credit for. We find ourselves griping about things but we have it good (meaning employees). But administration has it good as well. We are a united group of people. Granite motto "Like us or Leave us!"
