So the ESL school board is laying off nearly half its' staff? This after Belleville just laid off 20 this week?
So this opens the door for questions.
1.) If ESL can afford to lay this many off, do they really need them anyway? 2.) Is this just a scare tactic to hurt the union? 3.) What becomes of class size if this does go through? 4.) Did they cut money going to the all mighty football team? 5.) All of you who bash the local school boards, did GC lay anyone off this year? If not, it's too late to lay off teachers for next year. Does that mean despite all the griping we do about the local board that maybe, just maybe they're doing a good job with our money?
Nearly every day districts in the area including Alton, Belleville, O'fallon and even Holy E'ville are laying off staff. Yet GC has managed to keep everyone working. Your thoughts?
