The act of bed wetting at the age of 10 is humiliating enough without having it publically announced by having the child stand on a corner where friends can witness it. This opens the door for a lifetime label of "bed wetter", harassment and rejection. You can not cure this with humiliation! I too have had family members who have experienced this condition. It seems more predominate in males for some reason. It took many trips to doctors and extensive testing to find out if it was a physical problem...such as small bladder, UTI, hormone imbalance, diabetes...or from a psychological condition such as stress, emotional, or fear. It was finally diagnosed, treated and cured. Not once did a doctor sugest public humiliation as a treatment!!!!! I feel this child is going to suffer more because of the "treatment" the parent met out.
