I was there on 7/26 and the track was actually prepped better than the previous time there about a month earlier.
The finish line tabletop was fixed with a nice takeoff, nice flattened top. The tower jump was tweaked so non jumpers
could jump it half way without slamming down. Mulch was added in a couple of spots.
Spectator tabletop - is developing a dip in it. Needs filled in so it's flat across the top. If you don't jump it, sometimes your
jumping into goop in those first couple of practices.
After the Bonsai, the first left turn needs mulch dumped into it and worked in. Last two visits, it was all loose dirt, no good ruts ever formed.
The uphill high speed sweeper turn. Once you get halfway up is getting rocky.
The dropdown tabletop landing needs flattened out and worked on, take off was good.
Not sure what to do about the last section in the back before the finish line. You come off the dropdown tabletop then turn left.
It's a mess back there. Tree roots, fine powder, dry dirt, it never gets any ruts. It turns back left and very close to the trees, one lined. Sometimes you have to duck your head under a tree branch to make the right. Maybe a dumpload of mulch and soaking back there. Heard some others talk about just looping it back around cutting up into the grass a little and making a table top over the pipe.
Soil preparation aside, trying to make a track likable by all riders is tough but I think it's all about options. I think you almost have to design it towards the Bell curve. A bulk of the riders are going to be the intermediates but the track is designed to have some A stuff and suitable enough for beginners at the tail edges of the curve.
* For example, a triple with an optional double. Do we have A stuff with options? Bonsai-Yes, it's not a double so I can jump halfway and not loose too much flow.
* What about the 65/85 riders learning to jump. Do we have a double they can try? I remember taking my son there on a 65 when there were two doubles at the bottom, a small one and the large blind takeoff one. He learned to hit the smaller one that made his day.
The track is tight and gets one lined a bit but the space is limited on what they can work with. Sort of like Happy Ramblers, tight space to work with. The reversed layout was pretty cool too. I think they are using the old start area for mulch staging, saw a huge pile there. Here's a thought on a modified current layout.
Red- Tabletop or double to table.
Green - small double or keep flat.
