The MCAT was rough but everyone should expect that going in. The part that was actually difficult was waiting a month for the results. Hopefully all AA programs will eventually require the MCAT since the GRE has little predictive power in determining if an applicant can handle the rigor of the basic science didactic portion of the program. For AA school, you have to have a bachelor's degree. Now if that degree did not meet all the prerequisites (or they weren't high enough level or poorly done), then you have to take them in addition to the bachelor's degree. When I mentioned that my nursing classes didn't count for AA school, I meant that none of them counted as prereq's for the program. If I didn't have a previous biology degree, then I would have to take all of the required prereq's (after getting a degree in nursing). While I think an ADN prepares one to work as a nurse better than a BSN, if you want to go to AA school, getting the BSN is a better choice because then you just have to take the prereq's. If you had an ADN, you would need to take the prereqs and get a bachelor's degree (which might not overlap even with a biology degree).
