Thank you for the nice compliment wishing me well in AA school. For the record stanley kristiansen(CRNA) I am not being defensive I just speak my mind and the "truth". How can you make a commet(calling the kettle black!)saying look at your mentors on the SDN or the ASA for distasteful or rude comments, when you(CRNA) and/or your association the AANA #1.Are trying to not have AA-C considered "anesthetist"?. and #2.The majority of CRNAs(not all CRNAs agree with this)and the AANA attempt to block legislation that would allow AA-C to practice in other states where other mid-level anesthesia providers are needed badly which are AA-C(anesthetists) & #3.Your trying to fight the ASA in not being under there supervision in the ACT model at a major Medical Center Hospital "HOW SICK" IS THAT?.

KNOW YOUR ROLE AS A "NURSE" plan and simple if you "don't want to be under the supervision of a MDA, DOA, or any other Physician then you know what to do GO BACK TO MEDICAL SCHOOL and become a MDA/DOA then you will have all the Autonomy you what and the right to called "DOCTOR" instead of trying to play Medical Doctor and using legislation and politics to gain independent practice rights, no matter what you say or how you try to twist it around your STILL A NURSE.

You really have no reason to talk about the ASA being rude or using dirty politics just look at your association how "vendictive"(AANA) they are towards AA-C. I personally would rather be with an organization that reflects on "Values, Trust, Honesty, Fairness, Equality, Loyalty, Ethics, & most of all Respect" on "ALL LEVELS" which is the AAAA/ASA vs. the AANA with their negative views which reflects on Greed, Lies, Untrusted worthy, Dirty politics, Lack of respect from the AANA/CRNA(Not all CRNAs)towards AA-C, Dishonesty , Fear, and Hatefulness. In my opinion you sound and function just like the KKK("HATE") truth be told and It's very sad.

It's only a matter of time be fore the public really see for who you are and what your association stands for what goes "around" "comes around". Correct me if I'm wrong stanley aren't "nurses suppose to be Caring, Compassionate, Understanding, Team player, Non judgmental, supportive, Respectful on all levels even out side of nursing when it comes to patient care?...I'm personally am not seeing that from the AANA.

In regards to your statement It makes no sense to you! to spend so much time and energy to achieve a goal and then be managed. Again you are a "nurse" with a Master Degree not a "Medical Doctor" MDA/DOA there education far surpass your education when it comes to the "science of anesthesia period they have earned that right(title) be called a "Doctor" and work "Independently" with their "Medical Knowledge".

After Sacrificing 10-14 years of schooling not 2.5 years as a nurse anesthetist they have every right to dictate your practice as a nurse yes you have a Master Degree in anesthesia but you still work in the same manner as an ICU nurse with a BSN/ADN you just didn't take it upon your self to order certain medication or other vital nursing care to sustain a patients life with out the consent and/or written order of a Medical Doctor whether It's a MDA, Surgeon, Cardiac MD, Internal Medicine MD etc.

Now you have a Master Degree in nurse anesthesia and now you don't want to be under the supervision of any doctor now WHY?...

I have the up the "up most respect" for nurses although the majority of nurses not just CRNAs are very arrogant and how they look down on people if your not a nurse your nothing or you shouldn't be doing patient care give me a break. In my opinion It's all about "control" and "dominance" period which is very sad.

Do I think CRNAs provide excellent care as mid-level anesthesia providers in the ACT YES! do I think AA-Cs provide excellent care as mid-level anesthesia providers YES! "both" are. In closing Stanley what are you doing to support AA-Cs to work in all 50 states where the need for anesthesia providers are needed badly on all levels CRNAs, AA-Cs, MDAs, & DOAs better access to "ALL" patient care across the nation?.

Despite all the CRNA schools you have across the nation your society are still unable to keep up with the demand and/or supply of anesthesia care. So I ask you what are you planing on doing in support of the AA-Cs sense you do not have anything against AA-Cs and you said they do provide excellent/very good mid-level anesthesia care in your past postings to help fill in the gaps of anesthesia shortage?.

I can give you one advice tell your society(AANA)to support in opening more AA school(anesthetist programs)to help alleviate the shortage in partners of mid-level anesthesia providers AA-C/CRNA remember there are nurses who function as allied health anesthetist RN,AA-C or AA-C,RN but still function a both a "nurse" and "anesthetist".

For the record I am aware that you work independently and you have never worked with an AA-C try getting to know some AA-Cs and possibly shadow one of them and watch them perform in the ACT along with CRNAs where both are employed try shadowing a AA-C that's not a nurse(RN)if possible just to prove in reality you don't need 1-2 years ICU experience as a RN(BSN/ADN)just to provide mid-level anesthesia.

I personally rather have on hands training as a mid-level anesthesia provider vs having ICU experience which will all come into play(role) with my practice as a AA-C as well as obtaining my ACLS&PALS certification with in the two years I'm in school. AA-C are trained from the get go co-directed and taught by a Bord Certified Anesthesiologist MD with over 2,000 clinical hours doing all specialties of anesthesia before graduating with a Masters Degree of Science in Anesthesiology. Our preceptors(Instructors)are once again in clinical setting rotation at hospitals 1-on-1 are Physician(Anesthesiologist MD), Anesthetist-AA-C, and Anesthesia Residents MDA.

Either you like AA-Cs or you dislike AA-Cs you can't have it both ways either your good or bad from this time forth anything you say that's in defense of you society(AANA) or negative comments towards the AA-Cs it just proves that I'm right and you can't handle the "TRUTH" therefore I will not respond to any more of your defensive postings on this subject. NEXT!

Lets move on to a whole entire new subject something more positive
