I see trouble coming.
Image this, a CRNA loses his license to practice for one reason or another. Substandard care, unsafe practice, unprofessional conduct, etc.
So he uses his nursing bachelors degree and gets into an AA school and becomes an AA. Since there is not yet a solid national AA association and since the AANA and AAs seem dead set on being enemies (not me, I think AAs are a good idea) then there will be little communication between the two.
So we end up with a provider who lost his license yet once again able to practice anesthesia.
I think whatever AA practice laws that currently exist and get set up in the future, should have a clear statement that if someone loses their license to practice as a CRNA (or MDA for that matter) they are ineligible to become an AA.
YOU guys do not want to get our problem children. Or am I wrong in that assumption?
