Look your example pedals a myth foisted on so many that if the surgeon is supervising then they are responsible, even the ASA legal team says that is not true, the fact is that the ASA trusts no one to do anything if they are not a doctor. I do not fool myself, many would do away with my profession in a hot second if they could. The AA profession has received a boost, not due to the need for more mid levels but more as a means to bring CRNA's to heel. Don't believe me look at vol 67 2003 asa journal. As I have stated and will restate again AA's can and do provide safe quality patient care every day. Unfortunately you, as a group, are being used not to further patient care but to advance the agenda of the ASA. The moment the ASA does not need you support for AA programs will return to it's former anemic state. If I had my way all of you would be grandfathered in in some way to allow independent practice or ACT if you wished, as long as you had a CHOICE. The ASA is not your friend they trust no non physician.
