It is not belittling if I do not care for their choices, is it belittling to feel sorry for an addict, a slave, a person who works hard has picked a demanding profession to then be exploited by those who "direct" or "supervise". Now I am not saying anyone here is an addict or a slave OK. I am sure if you read other posts you will see that I feel that AA"S can and do provide quality care every day to their patients. They are just exploited. As for not trusted just look at the ASA website on standards of care for regional anesthesia, the official position by the AA's creators is that you are not capable. They feel the same way about me but I do not fool myself into thinking they ever trusted me or my profession.
