My town is on the St Croix river which creates the border between upper Wis & Minn, about 15 miles south of me, the St Croix flows into the Mississippi, which creates the rest of the border between Wis & Minn.
Our food is heavy on the Scandinavia, Italian and German recipes, lots of lefse, herring and cod, Italian pasta dishes and pizza, potato dumplings, salad and sauerkraut and can't forget bratwursts.
Lefse I can live with or without though it's big in my family, I love fish fry fridays with cod being the main fish and potao dumplings was a staple in my parents house as was sauerkraut but I never got past the smell of that to eat it.
