back in the day when I made a bunch, I'd boil them until tender in heavy salted/garlic water.
Clean and reheat w/a BBQ sauce.
Now since I make smaller amounts, the crockpot works. Just throw them in, season w/garlic/seasoned salt and BBQ sauce.
I did 8 hours on med/low until they fell apart.
Pork these days is still a cheaper protein source, even over chicken.
