Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCi 2013 - DPF fault - Fixed #

Posted by Shane Gray on May 30, 2018, 9:15 pm

Year of Manufacture: 2013
Engine Size and Code: 1.6 TDCI
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Mech 5, Snap on, Dec ss 2

Hi,

Had this one with DPF blocked, soot max fault codes etc.
On live data could see DPF pressure staying on nearly 0, so checked pressure pipes and found broken pressure sensor.
Replaced sensor and zeroed it in special functions.
Cleared codes and they came straight back on with engine started, tried DPF regen with driving and tried static regen, both failed.
Looking on live data now shows DPF pressure at 2000 rpm 0.56 kpa .

Any help please ?

Regards

Shane

Hi ,

Will get codes on a Friday . Light comes straight back on before ecu knows it’s blocked ! 0.50 at 2000 rpm shows it not blocked doesn’t it ?

Hi

I would think 'max soot' fault code is a calculated factor, so possibly the only way to clear would be to carry out a regen or carry out the fit new DPF function. (you could try a battery reset.)

Question is why wont it carry out a regen, does it give any reason.

That pressure seems low to me, is the DPF in good condition ?

Hi Aidan ,

I,ve no function on all my scan tools to fit new DPF function .

Not sure on condition of DPF only that pressure is low, my need to get this reset on IDS!

Will try battery reset when it’s brought back in next week .

unplug the MAF WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, then go back in and clear the codes, this works for me.

Hi,

Put it in to IDS and reset DPF and sensor and code cleared.

Bloody aftermarket scan tools.
