Ford Fusion 1.4 TDCi 2009 - Code P0193 fuel pressue input high #

Year of Manufacture *: 2009
Engine Size and Code *: 1.4 tdci
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Solus
( Optional) Fault Codes: P0193

Hi

Management lamp on, engine fault on lcd screen

P0193 does not clear, have 4.9v on 2 wires to fuel press sensor, third wire is earth which is ok

Tested continuity from multiplug under airbox to sensor all ok, tested from other side of plug to ecu all ok 4.9v on both at ecu, autodata gives 4.9v at yellow cable which it is, white and green should be 0.5 ign on and 1v engine running which it isn't its currently 4.9 any ideas?

What do you get on the wires with the sensor disconnected ?

Both wires 4.9v ignition on sensor plug on or off,hence confusion!suspect ecu but can`t find anyone to test it.

Hi

I take it you have tested the wires form ECU for shorting together ?

I think you sometimes(depending on ecu) get Voltage on the signal wire (when disconnected) from ECU used for self testing circuit. If this is the case you could have a open circuit sensor. I would explore this before condemning ECU

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will expand.

While checking voltage on the signal wire connect a test light from the signal wire to earth.
If the voltage drops to zero it's most likely only test voltage from the ECU.
You could also watch live data to see if it changes while connecting the test light to earth.
As Aidan said the test voltage is used to check circuit integrity.
