Isuzu Trooper 3.0 2004 (54) - Non start after recall on injectors - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 54 plate
Engine Size and Code *: 3.0

this is my mates vehicle it went into isuzu main dealer running for a recall on the injectors, and will now not start they have washed there hands of it can you believe and told him to come and pick it up, (which he has done ) or they will charge him storage can any one tell me how the injection system works as with the cam cover off there is a big rail on top with the injectors i was told to cut a white wire in the loom to make sure its not the oil pressure valve this did not work sorry for long post any advise would be good thanks paul

Beware the 3L isuzu engine almost bankrupted caterpillar with the HUGE oil pressure fault and other problems with injectors and fuel pressure.
I now refuse to look at ANYTHING on the 3L as almost got accused of killing one by fitting the radio, non of the diagnostic platforms cover isuzu i believe and the information isnt easily available to repair efectivly.

Where abouts in the UK are you? there is an experienced independent in Derbyshire that may be able to help. Also very experienced dealer in south Lincs.

Has your mate spoke to Isuzu customer service, sound like un acceptable treatment from dealer.

try a search, on here + on web, think there was mention of a good Isuzu forum.

I am no expert on these, but 2 non runners I have fixed have been a) throttle plate stuck shut 2) oil pick up broken on injection oil pump feed ( not main engine oil feed)

as kevin says im in aldershot ive not got tech2 only kts and solus pro, i would add the vehicle broke down on road test at main dealers after recall had been done which was to fit new injectors, the engine code on the chassis plate is rjm as i said we have cut the white wire and over filled engine oil by 2 litres, and oil pressure light is going out when cranking but i dont know if thats enough to fire up injectors, it does try to fire with a sniff of easy start so its got to be a fuel problem

Hi Paul, For my sins i have one of these. I get a
lot of info from the owner's club.

There is a guy on there who is based in Farnham,
just down the road from you. He has Tech 2 with the Izusu card.There is also another guy on there
called Eithan H who works at a delarship. Everyone on the site swears by Cotswolds Isuzu
in Oxford.You will find all the answers on the site and the guy, who's name escapes me will be found in discussions about Injectors, bad/non starts and re-calls.Just look to the left for his location.

thanks for your replies we have a guy with tech 2 coming out this week to read it, and spoke to jd performance they said they get offered a couple of these a week that dont run and the way forward is to fit a 3.1 engine which slots straight in, so i will keep you informed thanks paul
