    Simon,

    used to see the harness at the rear of engine chafing through. This would be my first inspection.

    Harness is cable tied onto the engine and its where the harness comes from the bulkhead onto the engine. Strip this section back and hopefully you will see damage.

    This caused the wiring to ground and cut out the injectors and misfire etc..

    However, the injectors could still be internally faulty.

    The seal which you refer to is for the regulator,(opposite end of the rail) this generates a rail pressure sesnor fault code P1187. Still worth checking though.

    I would actually still carry out injector leak-off test.

    Non start could be because the rail pressure cannot be established - diagnostic tool is required to see values when cranking ideally.

    The fact you have only injector codes (I assume) would keep me on the injector line of diagnosis.
