If you purchase from a Boni fide supplier as a consumer you have certain rights if a part will only last 3 months then it is not "fit for the purpose" <<<<< Nothing in life is that simple Mike. When selling products & services to a retail customer, the minimum guarantee is 6 months. However when a selling to another business, the rules are different. So long as the buyer is made aware of the terms, the guarantee can be very limited. For example, if you have stock of some poor quality mass air meters & your customer is prepared to take a risk (for a price that reflects the risk) then shorter guarantee terms can be agreed. This is how a scrap yard can state on their invoice "30 day guarantee". That limited guarantee can not be passed on to a retail customer. So best to get retail customers to source their own salvaged parts I reckon! These are the facts as they were explained to me during a visit from Trading Standards anyway. HTH Dave (Hill)
