Come on Ryan its diesel powered not steam powered. do you really need to ask if this is a problem?????
sounds like you have two faults , these later PCM on fords do have overheat strategies built into them and will reduce power and even stop the engine if a overheat condition is detected.
Also you need to look at the live data on the Accelerator pedal sensor, Or even beter scope the outputs or graph on live data.
there are three tracks inside this sensor , they do fail but normally cause the the car to go into limp mode of 1100 rpm and not rev past this. also the glow light will flash.
