I still don't really understand why it was trying to regenerate if the ash level was too low? I must admit, I've still got a lot to learn about DPFs. If I understand it correctly, soot is produced during the combustion process but ash is produced if oil is burnt, ie, if the incorrect grade of oil is used? So, assuming that ash and soot are two different by-products, why does a low ash content prevent the DPF regenerating?
