This car came in with poor power and engine light on. The customer asked me to replace the timing chain as he had been told this was the cause.
Wanting to diagnose the fault myself i checked a few things and noticed the cam sensor and crank sensors had been replaced, so i scoped the cam sensor on all three wires and all seems normal. (good 5v, ground and signal. After clearing the fault code it returns immediately when cranking the engine. (the battery is good. I then checked the valve timing and it is perfect and the chain tensioner is not over extended indicating little if any stretching. My next two steps are to obtain an ecu pin diagram and a known good crank/cam sensor waveform to double check the cam and crank correlation (in case a key-way is worn)and to check the wiring.
If any one could help i would be very grateful.
Many thanks
Allan
