Vehicle is a non-runner and was towed in after the customer had the thermostat replaced by persons unknown. Apparently the 'stat was changed and the engine ran ok for about 45 minutes when it stopped as if switched off.
I have been unable to achieve any vehicle specific comms with any of the above tools, however it will comm on EOBD with one code (from memory, I'm at home now, of P0052 upstream lambda sensor heater circuit).
There appears to be a normal amount of injector back-leakage i.e. very little.
The fuel rail pressure sensor ouput rises to approximately 2-2.5V on cranking.
I have not yet checked for injection pulses but I suspect there won't be any.
Live data shows a cranking rpm but it is only showing about 76rpm.
Obviously I can check all sensors, especially cam and crank, individually but meaningful comms would help.
I have had loom faults on these on about three previous occasions now but I am unwilling to split the loom without good cause.
Comms is achieved with other items in the car when many of them complain of no comms with the engine. Not able to post the exact codes at the moment.
I have checked the PCI bus and get data on it.
A little puff of something in the inlet tract will start the engine briefly so the cam appears to be in time with good compression etc.
