I knew if I kept banging on about it, someone would catch on. To be fair though, credit for the "helicopter view" catch phrase goes to James Dillon. He taught me about it back in 2007 & I have been banging on about it ever since.
the study of duty cycle VS pressure signals on a fast time base setting can be very limiting, in what you can learn. As you have discovered, the "birds eye" view gives you the opportunity to see the "trend" & not just the "now" in an event, as many scope users are used to (especially Snap-On scope users
