Its just as pity that there isnt something that one could twiddle to extend glow plug time easily....

I have often found that temperature sensitve glow controllers seem a bit overenthusiastic at switching off quickly if they dont think it is cold enough, especially as engines/starters/batteries etc age and, whilst still perfectly servicable, may no longer have the crispness of their youth...
