Hi again everyone
As per my previous post, we came to the conclusion the exchange alternator was faulty, so today ANOTHER unit was obtained and fitted, this time a Valeo unit and everything was as you would expect, and for information the output voltage from the alternator to the engine ECU was mirroring the input voltage to the alternator from fuse 36!!
