Many thanks for the responses so far. There is no towing equipment on this one so rule out this one at the moment. I have now got to the ecu and am next going to check the voltages and then the cable resistances back to the ecu. Bryan you said the lamp is switched by the ecu,do you know if the warning lamp is supplied with battery voltage with ignition on as per the traditional set up? I really dont want to take the dash out of this one, however if I get good results on the test I am about to do now, this will be the next step!! I may be clutching at straws here, but is it possible its a fault with the replacement alternator, in spite of being an exchange unit? Anyway back to the tests . . . . .
