No problem with the turbo now, no oil smoke from the tailpipe now, not running away, so now i can see what damage was done.
Engine now has starting and running problems. When you start it up, it fires up and cuts straight out, if you keep turning it over past this point for a good few seconds it does start and keep running fine, but runs very rough and sometimes misfires and is quite noisey, with plenty of smoke from the tailpipe from over fuelling. Revs up ok and doesnt stall. It did have a bit of air in the fuel lines as it drained back over time but that has cleared now. Had the engine running for about an hour and evened out a bit but still quite noisey and runs rough and smokes from fuel.
Then i went to move this vehicle off the ramp and to one side for a while and as i dipped the clutch it smoothed out, seemed to stop misfiring, stopped smoking and quietened a bit, although still sounded a little rattly.
Am i looking at a DM flywheel problem causing timing problems? My suppliers say it is fitted with one and LUK Tech say fairly certain it has the timing segments on the moving part of the flywheel.
Not sure what live data to put in this post, so just ask. Cant give you reliable fault codes at the moment, faults stored are for air flow and wastegate etc. due to the turbo, cant clear the codes properly and ECU not recognised in scantool database thanks to the really bad latest upgrade which snap-on have released now, but live data is good.
