Checked fault codes, 2 faults present, APPS 1 and APPS 2. Both historic, both cleared and did not return with long road test. Checked the live data for APPS, track one gives .49v up to 2.10v at wide open throttle. Track 2 gives .98v up to 4.2v at W.O.T. Within range according to autodata and both rise and fall without glitch's. supply and earth are good which leads me to think they are OK. Fuel filter renewed, Fuel lines inspected. Physically checked air intake and exhaust for restrictions. Checked cam and pump timing. No excessive smoke, EGR seems to be reasonably clean and as far as I can tell closing/sealing. Ive had trouble with Valve clearances on the older version of the Isuzu engine so tried a comp' test but had no adaptors to fit. Does anyone know if these suffer the valve clearance issues??
Customer needed the van back. Having another look Friday so my next step will probably be to check the clearances. Assuming they are OK, does anyone have any ideas for the next step??
