If the wiring is ok and you know its a dash fault, ( And the Customer isn't too fussy ) Why not fit a seperate Durite warning light, If you have checked the wires as far as the dash, it will only take you a a few minutes to wire in a seperate W/L .

and pretend its a real 1970's car with proper warning lights.
