Hi Mimi. Good find at the recycling center! Both the Commerce and Lausanne Villa patterns date to about the 1830s or 1840s, and are typical of patterns from that time in being available in a variety of colors, instead of just blue as had been the case in the 1820s and before. We don't necessarily need the same central pattern in different colors though some pattern records do have them.
