I get the same test from both my retina specialist and optho. They do dliate because that way they get a better view that the scan may not pick up. I see the results on their computer also. Medicare pays for my exams (80%). They also do other scans if needed. I alway have a headache after my eyes are dilated but it is a small price to pay to allow them a better view of what is going on. Also each doctor sends the other a report of my last visit with them so they are always aware of what the other is doing.
