from a decent PL right back lined up on a free to just ignoring that position all season, then chucking £45m at a kid to sit on the bench.
To be fair to Moyes, we've had some good away performances this season and Keane hasn't been the disaster I feared. There was a period yesterday where we were in 8th and heading into Europe. In which case the narrative is very different.
But maybe the impact of Grealish papered over some cracks.

when, despite not signing any full backs, Moyes switched from the hybrid back 3 to back 4 that allowed JOB to play more centrally giving us that pace to cover for Tarks and Big Mick Kegga. And that system allowed the likes of Charly to play off Beto, which meant Beto was getting better service.

Seems to me that we had a few "lucky" away wins that meant we were overperforming and in with a shout of Europe.
We've then had a late season collapse (due to conceding late goals to Liverpool, West Ham, Man City) but performances haven't been abject.
This season I was expecting 8th-12th.
With Grealish and Branthwaite in the team we'd be very close to Europe, with them both injured it's not happening.

The drop off in results and performances and since the end of last season, despite adding to the squad, is worrying to say the least.
At least by including Dyches 19 games, you can hide the drop off from Moyes last season to this season in amongst last seasons numbers.

feels harsh to count the dramatic turnaround last season against him.

at best we will finish this season on 52 points.
But it's more than likely we will finish the season on 49 points. That's a 1 point gain on last season, a season that saw Dyche sacked for just 3 wins in 19 games.
