Nithya V. Raman is an American urban planner, activist, and politician serving as the Los Angeles city councilmember for the 4th district since 2020. This woman is 44 years old, born in India, studied at Harvard/MIT for maybe six years, then returned to India for a while; back to the US at age 31 or so? In any case, has worked for (or been elected) to various government organizations in LA ever since she returned. First elective office was 7 years ago, LA City Council. So, she's going to the left of the current (absentee) mayor?? I know the actor is far to the right. ---------------------------------------------- Totally (kinda) off-topic: LA has a mayor who's on another continent accepting an award during a huge wildfire. NY has an avowed Communist, who's apparently already out of money vis-a-vis those pie in the sky campaign promises. And then there's Brandon Shitehead....
