the kids are averaging no more than 6 hours a week on average. I have no issues with that. My 12 year old is in a very rigorous school that gives out 1-2 hours of homework daily and he is able to juggle that, club soccer, and aau basketball just fine. October and March are both a bit busy because soccer and basketball overlap those two months in starting up/shutting down, but nothing too crazy. Most club schedules aren't as crazy as parents make them out to be....but the ones that are truly 10-15 hours each week are unnecessary unless you are truly elite and at some sort of academy (IMG or similar). . . . I spent at baseball, basketball and soccer practice in junior high. Baseball might have been twice a week for 2 to 3 hours at a time because it was the summer. But I bet the other two were only once a week for 2 or 3 hours because they were during the school year.
I'm not certain what the "correct" number is here. But the overall time committment for kids this age should arguably be less than 10 hours per week.
