Alan Shackleton played for Latics in the 1961/62 season and as previously said made 10 appearances and scoring 7 goals.He scored a hat trick in one game against Hartlepool,he also scored a goal in a friendly against BelgradeSC November 1961.Latics finished 11th that season with Bert Lister netting 17 goals and good old Jimmy Frizell getting 24.Looks like Alan Shackleton new where the back of the net was.There is a couple of photos of him in Stewart Becketts Pine Villa & Oldham Athletic a 100 Year Journey.
