Re: Odd team selection

To be fair Cass, it's not as easy for a defender to demonstrate something that makes a difference to the result, when compared with an attacking player. For example, a timely tackle or a crucial block could have prevented a goal, nobody knows. I do know that Sutton produced a few of those yesterday, and from my view close to the touchline, I thought he deserved his award. The biggest problem in my opinion was the selection of Kavanagh who upset the dynamic of the team.He was never close enough to Fondop, and it also meant that Drummond was less effective stuck out wide against their best player. Eventually, M.M. realised that and changed things, but he should have started with the format that has been successful for the last dozen games.
