Here is my take (some may have different opinions...)
1. I do not worry about light contact between nib and ink bottle. In some cases (very old, super flexible nibs made of very thin gold) you need to be much more careful. Using the bottle angled rather than vertical will minimize any chance of impact between nib and bottle.
2. No need for any detergent. DAB the nib with a soft cloth (microfiber works great). Do not rub it, just dab it.
3. IMHO, no. Separating the converter will quickly compromise the tight fitting of the nipple, causing leaks. Flushing the pen by filling and emptying the converter improves the operation of the pen/feed.
4. No need for uncolored water: it would take way too many flushing operations to get it completely clear. Use a good ink (Washable Blue is best). Stay away from red/reddish inks.
5. No need to dry the whole feed. Just dab the nib and cap the pen.
6. Same as above.
Hope this helps. Others may provide their views...
