I totally agree.
When Noir City returned to Chicago this summer after its pandemic hiatus, I scaled back my visits to the Music Box Theater due to the large number of repeat screenings. Twelve of the twenty-one films presented were repeat performances from prior festivals.
I saw seven movies in all. Five of the seven films that I watched were completely new to me. The two familiar repeats that I revisited were "All the King's Men" and "Scandal Sheet."
I deliberately skipped the restoration debut of "The Argyle Secrets" which, in my opinion, simply is not a very good film. Director Cy Endfield did much better work later on his career.
