So I'm watching the results come in from Florida, and Romney has cleaned up big. Newt a distant second.
My question is with all the baggage Gingrich brings, and the National polls showing he would get smoked by Obama in a general election, and that Santorum would actually fare better, why is Santorum not doing better? He brings a good conservative message, and has a record to back it up for the most part. He has none of the questionable history of Gingrich. He's certainly a better anti-Romney candidate than Gingrich. I was saddened when Bachmann dropped out, and I can't see Santorum hanging on much longer with his numbers. Is the conservative ideology so small and insignificant anymore that it is in effect over?
Don't get me wrong, I'll vote for Romney or Gingrich when the time comes, but I am truly bewildered at why a true blue conservative, especially in todays climate, is not shining like a rock star.
